Bill’s nearly forty years of legal experience has been primarily in the areas of maritime and general civil litigation. He previously headed a very successful and globally recognized marine and energy practice of a large West Coast based law firm. Bill primarily represents multinational companies involved in international trade and marine transportation as well as oil companies and marine and energy underwriters in connection with commercial disputes, casualties, personal injuries and environmental matters. Bill has significant trial experience in both the state and federal courts of California where he holds the highest, “AV Preeminent” rating by Martindale Hubbell.
Born in Galveston, Texas, Bill graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas where he was President of Sid Richardson College and Chairman of the University’s Honor Council. Prior to moving to the U.S. West Coast, Bill served as in-house counsel to the
El Paso LNG Co. in Houston.
Bill has been recognized repeatedly as one of Southern California’s “Super Lawyers” by the editors of Law and Politics Magazine and for more than 20 years by Best Lawyers in America.
