Collier Walsh Nakazawa Welcomes Senior Counsel Anusha Pillay
Long Beach, CA – September 28, 2022 – Collier Walsh Nakazawa, LLP announced today the addition of Anusha Pillay as Senior Counsel. Attorney Pillay will be working from the firm’s Seattle office.
Attorney Pillay has substantial litigation experience. She vigorously handles all aspects of complex commercial litigation from pre-litigation investigation of high-exposure, catastrophic incidents, through trial and appeal. Her maritime practice has centered on representation of vessel owners, marinas, fishing companies and insurance interests, including maritime employer liability, maritime personal injury and wrongful death defense, and maritime insurance coverage. Her work has also included representation of maritime hospitality and recreational clients in the defense of premises liability and passenger claims.
In addition to her maritime practice, Pillay has also defended airlines, trucking companies, a Fortune 150 railroad, general contractors, subcontractors, and insurers of high-profile construction projects. With a unique combination of experience in litigation, insurance coverage and background in financial services, she develops risk models for high exposure, catastrophic incidents, and putative class actions.
Pillay received her law degree for the University of Illinois College of Law and participated in the University of Oxford Intellectual Property Programme in 2007.
“It is truly an honor to welcome Anusha to Collier Walsh Nakazawa”, said partner Joe Walsh, “She adds depth to our firm’s strong litigation team and her experience in Maritime Law as well as other complimentary industries make her an outstanding addition to the firm.”
